The one thing I learned that was most surprising is that Turkey has had 41 prime ministers in its history, and the country is younger than the United States. Another thing I learned is that the capital of Turkey is Ankara. Turkey also has its own currency as of 2001. One US dollar is worth 1.18 YTL.

One food that i thought would taste really good was the Lahmacun because it is a Turkish style pizza and I love pizza. Another food that i really liked was the Baklava because it has layers of filo that are filed with chopped nuts and has syrup or honey in between each layer. One thing I learned which I didn't know before is that almost every Turkish meal has some sort of meat in it, most of the time lamb.
