2. In 1580 Spain invaded and conqured Portugal. In 1640 Portugal gained back it's independence.
3. In 1500 Pedro Alvares Cabral, claimed Brazil for Portugal and in 1822 Portugal lost Brazil in the colony.
4. In 1974 a revolution overthrew the Portugesse dictatorship.
5. In 1975 almost all colonies gained independence.
