What I Learned: I have learned a lot about Spain. I learned what the meaning of Spain’s flag is. President Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero is the leader of Spain since 2004. I originally thought Barcelona was the capital of Spain but it actually is Madrid. Madrid is in the center of Spain. It is also economical and industrial center of Spain. Spain uses Euros and is kind of like what America has but it has a different value. The food in Spain is very different then what I thought. I thought any sort of Mexican food was Spanish food. Therefore I thought Mexican food came from Spain. Well I was wrong. The foods we eat in America are Americanized. In Spain there are many different dishes and are very colorful. They use lots of seafood since the country has three sides covered my water. Spain is divided into communities that have different culture and different cuisine, there are only a few dishes that are popular all around. One of the dishes that are very popular is the Tortilla Espanola. This is a Spanish omelet, made from eggs, potatoes, and onions. Another dish that is popular is the Cold Tomato soup. It is from Andalucía and is served everywhere during the hot summer. The Soup is a very refreshing dish.
