Nicholas Ault- Iran Flag: The Iran flag consists of three different colors which are green, white, and red. The colors all have different meanings. The color green means all the happy or positive things like hope, joy, and love. The color red means all the tough and no mercy things like hardiness, bravery, strength, and valour. The color white means honesty and peace
President: The current president of the Islamic Republic is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Capital: The capital of Iran is Tehran. Its historically important because 1786 Āghā Moḥammad Khān wanted to move the capital to tehran because it is near where he grew up
Money: The type of money that the people of Iran use is IRR which means Iran Rials. (1 USD is equal to 10,372.88 Iran Rials).
History: 1. Since the 1979 revolution, Iran has been ruled by a difficult and more of a complex government.
2. In 1980-1988, the Iran-Iraq had started between the two countries.
3. in 1935, the country name use to be Persia but then the name was change to present name Iran.
4. 1896-1906 was the start of a revolution called the Consitutional Revolution which started the creation of their constitution.
5. BC Cyrus founded the greant and powerfull Persian empire.
Food: 1. Abgusht- this persian dish is a rich soup made with garbanzo beans, dried white beans, lamb meat, peeled onions, tomato, tumeric and salt and pepper for taste.
2. Aash-e Gandom- this dish is a rich soup made with wheat, spinach, peas, beans and lentils.
3. Aash-e Leemoo- this dish is a kinda of soup made with rice, herbs, meat, sugar, and lime juice.
4. Joojeh Kabab- this dish is a main dish which is made of barbecued chicken with olive oil, tomatoes and saffron.
5. Dolme Felfel- this dish is a main dish made with peppers filled with ground meat, rice and herbs.
6. Del- this main dish is made with sheep hearts with mushrooms, herbs and cheese.
7. Baklava- this dish is a desert with layers of cardamom and pistachio.
8. Marzipan Treats- this dish is a delicious treat that has an almond flavor to it.
9. Chicken Kabob- this dish is chicken with rice and or any other fruits you want.
10. Kuku Sabzi- this dish is a traditional egg dish. What I Learned: This project helped me learn a lot of Iran and i was interested in this project to learn about the country and its culture. I learned about its history and modern day facts and i liked every bit of it. The pictures that i saw about the country was pretty interesting like the money and what equals what for u.s dollars, the map of the country, its president for today and especially its captial and the capitals history. The food looks and seems tasty. I would may be go there some day im not sure, even though i liked learning about the country. I think the most part of Iran that i enjoyed learning about is the food and history. I love food, I absolutely love it,I would eat all day if that was the only thing in the world you can possibly do. I learned about the variety of different foods that they have from Iran and some of them look like they were adapted from other cultures like Chicken Kabob.I enjoy learning about history and that is the best subject i am good that. I learned about Iran's revolution and the creation of their constituion as well as other important things in their history, especially there name use to be called Persia. I wouldnt mind doing another project on wikispaces similar to this.
