Capital: The capital of the country is Lima, as well as being the largest city of Peru. This is unique because it's along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Lima shows the colonial and pre-conquistador glories. A strong mineral exports and a great banking system are located there.

What I Learned:
I learned that peru gained independence from spanish rule on July 28, 1821. I also learned that 36 cents of u.s. money is equal to 'nuevo sol,' peru money. Peruvians speak mostly Spanish, Quechua, Aymara. I learned that most of the food that they eat is common to the food we eat in the u.s. I found out that peru was a dictatorship government for about 20 years, but now is a democratic government. Twenty-three million to thirty million people is the population of peru.

The flag for peru has two thick red lines symbolizing blood. There is also a whit band in-between the red lines with a sheild in the center, the white symbolizes peace and justice. The colors overall symbolize the Inca's and the impact they left. Peru is about 1500 miles along the pacific coast.
